Lost and Found

I am such a ditz! I don't know what my deal is
this month, but I can't seem to catch a break!
Here is the story of my latest incident....

The other day I was meeting up with a group to do
homework. I saw one of my group members, and
a girl that has been in a previous class with us. I sat
down next to them, and we talked for a little bit until
it was time for me and my group member to meet up
with the rest of our group. A little while after, the
girl wondered up to us and asked us if we had seen
her keys. We all said no, and suggested some places
for her to look. We kept seeing her wondering
around, still not able to locate her keys. She said
she had a spare, but she lived south of Provo and
wasn't really sure how to get them. I felt bad for her,
but I didn't really know what to do to help her.
I left after finishing our homework, not thinking about
the girl wondering around school looking for her keys.

The next morning when I was getting ready to go to school,
I was trying to find my keys. I looked in a pocket in my
backpack where I frequently put my keys, and pulled them
out. Except..... they weren't my keys. I looked at them for
a few seconds thinking "who the heck are these, and how
did they get in my backpack?!" Then it dawned on me.
It was the girl that lost her keys! Oh crap! I covered my
mouth in shock, and then started laughing. Then I thought,
"Oh my gosh. She is going to HATE me!" I quickly texted
her telling her that I had them, and that I didn't remember
even touching her keys. I felt so bad, because she was
looking for them for about 2 hours when all along they
were in MY backpack. I must have felt them on the
couch and put them in my backpack thinking they were
my keys. I feel so dumb, yet it is hilarious. I couldn't
stop laughing at the situation. Thankfully she didn't seem
too mad at me when she text me back. I haven't gotten
them back to her yet, but I am thinking I owe her a nice
big bag of chocolate to apologize for all the stress that
I caused her that day.
