Happy Birthday, America

This 4th of July I was happy to be home.
Last year I stayed in Utah, and I missed
the usual tradition. The city shoots
fireworks on the 3rd of July, so the whole
family gathered yesterday at the park for
food, games and fireworks.

Today, some of the family met up at
the cabin for some fishing and hanging
out. I love going to the cabin. It is always
 so relaxing and peaceful.

Honestly, I don't thing there is any other
way that I rather spend my time then with
my family. I am so grateful that I have such
a close family. I am also very grateful for
this beautiful and free country that I live in!

Happy 4th of July!!

"BL"("Bucket list") #2...

Watch a TV series from the first episode to last.

I guess it's no surprise that I finished this
item fist since I don't have much going on
right now. The TV series that I decided on
watching was Wildfire. I watched the first
season when it started, but stopped watching
it for some reason. I remembered how much I
liked it then, and I liked it just as much now.

I didn't want the show to end. When I
got to the last season I started watching them
less to savor the show, but it couldn't have ended
any better. If you have netflix, you should
 definitely give it a try!

Gavin turns 1

Yesterday  was my nephews first birthday!
I remember a year ago, throwing my clothes in
my suitcase and driving to NM to see him. Now
he is one year older, and couldn't be any cuter.

For his birthday we went to the pool with some family.
He wasn't too interested in the water, but had a great
time crawling around and exploring.

It was also fun to be there with my family.
I enjoyed the warm sun and watching the kids
play. I had a feeling when I was packing that I
should bring my swim suit, but I of course didn't.
It was still fun though.

I hope you had a fun 1st birthday Gav Man!

Learning Through Remodeling

Since I can't find a stinking job in
Utah, I decided to come home for
a little bit to see if my parents could
keep me busy. A month ago my parents
started remodeling the house. We got the
walls retextured, new carpet, new countertops
and wood floors. When I fist came home I didn't
even have a bed. I slept on 3 memory foams. It
wasn't  too bad, but I was really happy when
I got my bed back.

At one point we had no countertops, sink or stove.
The granite people put boards on the cabinets for a
little bit. Not for our convenience, just to measure.

We didn't have carpet in certain sports for a long time.
You had to wear your shoes, or be extremely careful
where you stepped.

Since we were having wood floor being put in
the kitchen, the refrigerator couldn't be in there.
It had to take some getting use to in this spot.

All this construction was a good learning experience
for me.  We forget how lucky and blessed we are
to have all of these things. Some people live with
dirt floors, have no counter tops, stoves, sinks,
refrigerators, beds ect. Once they (kind of) get
taken away from you, you realize how blessed
you are to have them. I was grateful for this
reminder even if it was annoying at times.

1/2 of 2011

Can you believe it is June already?
2011 is half way over!
It just boggles my mind how fast time goes.
For the past month I have been job searching
and bored out of my mind. It's near to
impossible to get a job here in Utah.
Dang college kids. :) I am hoping something
will turn up soon. If not it's back home
"slapping bologna on bread".

Yesterday I got my first ever library card!

I thought I better get once since I want to read
12 books this year. I was grateful that my aunt
took me and helped me get one. It wasn't that
hard, but I didn't want to go into that big
building all by my lonesome. I am really excited
to read some good books. Any suggestions on
what I should read?
