The Big Island

Hawaii was so much fun!
Warning: I might get picture happy

We left Wednesday at 6:00 am.
Hillarie and I were tired in the beginning.
We tossed and turned all night long.
By 4:00 we were more then ready to
get up. I couldn't sleep on the plane
either. I must have been more excited
then I realized :)

Ready to go!

Last couple hours on the flight

Finally in Hawaii!!... But so exhausted

Once we arrived, we got our rental car and
headed to the condo. My mom mentioned
that a friend of ours said the Lava rock
reminded her of a big brownie. I never got
a good picture of it, but I often craved
brownies when we were driving around.

The view from our Condo

During our vacation we did lots of fun
things. Of course we went to the beach
a lot. We found a perfect beach that we
absolutely loved. A local told us about it
and we went there 3 times. The very first time
we went was my favorite. For some reason it was
more fun then any of the other times we went.
They were all fun, but that one was my favorite.

We boogie boarded a lot

Got taken down by the waves
(It was especially funny when Hill
did. True friendship)

Watched the cute boys boogie board

Played in the sand

And a lot more...

We also went to a Luau.
That was a lot of fun as well.
It was at a hotel that wasn't too
far from where we were staying.

We also went to another hotel that had
dolphins. We thought it was a show, but
it was the type of deal where you can get
in the water and interact with them.
It was still fun to watch them though.

They put sunscreen on the top of his head.

We didn't only see trained dolphins.
We saw wild ones too when we were
at the beach. It was so fun to watch
them play and jump up in the air
and spin. They were really far away so
we used the camera and the binoculars
to zoom in on them.

We also saw sea turtles. My mom
was really excited about this. She
has always wanted to see one.

I even touched one! I probably wasn't
suppose to but he was so close to us
that I couldn't help myself.

We went snorkeling at the beach right
across from the condo.

I had a friend, or two, stand on my foot

One day we went to Hilo- Which is the
other side of the island. It was really
pretty, but not very fun. We tried to find
some waterfalls or anything cool, but
they weren't that amazing. We really
wanted to go to the volcano, but they
said it wasn't flowing.

We really liked to eat at a place called
Huggos(hug-os). Our waitress said we
needed to come back to watch the
Lava Girls. We were so interested to know
what the Lava Girls were, we went back to
find out.

They were a girl bad...or women band.
I think they were in there late 30's.

The band itself wasn't all that entertaining,
but it was the drunk dancers that made
it extremely entertaining. There was this
older man that had some pretty awesome
moves- or so he thought. At one point a
lady joined him, and they danced together.
Everyone in the restaurant was watching and
giggling.

I hope this video works

Every night we tried to watch the sunset
go down. I think we only missed one.
Sometimes we would walk to the beach
across our condo, other times we
watched it from the condo, Humpys
(another favorite food place), and a
"our" look out spot.

I told you I might get picture happy.
Here is more....

I can't wait to go back.
Hopefully sometime soon!
