21st Birthday

For my 21st Birthday this year I decided to have
a few friends over. I thought it would be fun to
make our own individual pizzas instead of ordering
one. Hillarie was nice enough to come over to help
me prepare and cook everything.

We made the breadstick and pizza sauce and
was planning on making the pizza crust but the
timing wasn't quite right so we just made LOTS
of breadsticks(which were amazing thanks to Hillarie's mad skills)

Cookies with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in them
The breadsticks cooking

Everyone in the process of making their pizza
and
here are the results!

After eating our delicious pizzas we played some
games, hung out, and opened a few gifts

This was a fun game we played. It was off of the
T.V. show Minute to win it. You had to blow off
all the cards except one. It was really fun but hard too.
Ethan was the only one who could do it.

Over all I had a great birthday as usual. I had a lot of Happy Birthday
wishes, fun, and great gifts. I still cant believe I am 21! I don't feel like
I should be that old, but I suppose everyone feels that way.

Here is to being 21 (with root beer of course)

Fight as hard as you can!

The semester is getting close to an end.
Final assignments and projects are being presented
and study guides are being worked on.

I am fighting to keep going strong.
I don't have much left in me, but I know I can do it.
You know who else is fighting?
  Spring!
It has finally heard our pleas and is fighting against winter.
I see more and more trees everyday with blossoms on them.
This bring joy to my heart and a smile to my face.

I suppose I need to catch you up on what I have been doing.
It shouldn't take long.
School, homework, sleep, eat, and gym(sometimes).
I feel like that is all I do.

Not to long ago my boyfriend Zach came up.
We went to conference,
had Easter dinner,
and enjoyed each others company.

I hope summer will bring more excitement and adventures.
I am moving out of my apartment and to my Aunt and Uncles house.
They are so graciously letting me live there!
I can't wait till I have a bigger room and a bigger bed!
It will be so wonderful!

Wish me luck on my finals!

Missing you

It seems as though everyone is searching for spring.
No one can find it though.
I constantly wonder where it is hiding,
and I am more then ready for it to be here.

I miss the sun.
I miss the warmth on my skin.
I miss the green trees and beautiful flowers.
I miss being able to move freely in my clothes.
(my favorite blossoming tree during spring)

I often find myself in this place.....

In front of my extra heater in my room.
I love being warm. However, my warm is others hot.
I am not allowed to turn the heater up passed 74 degrees.
This is where my heater comes in. It keeps my room the way I like it.
My roommates will walk into my room and say its hot.
Kind of like a sauna.
Its really not though. It's perfect.

This is another reason for why I miss spring.
I miss not being cold wherever I go.

Hurry back spring!
I miss you....

It's Time to Celebrate!

On February 10th, my best friend Zach came home
from his mission!
(Carly, Zach and I)
I am so excited that he is home. It truly didn't seem
real that he was coming home, but I am glad it is.

Saturday the 6th, I met up with Carly and her roommates
at Temple Square. I brought one of her roommates friends
with me.

We had a great time walking around Temple Square and
taking lots of pictures.

Carly and I decided this was our preparty for when Zach
comes home. We couldn't help but jump for
JOY!

We also went to Carly's Aunt and Uncles house in Park City
to see...

Thats right... A zebra and a buffalo!

The zebra wouldn't let anyone get close to him, even though I
got pretty close

We also got to feed the buffalo! I have never bottle
fed an animal before, nor have I gotten this close
to a buffalo.

Why Jesus is Better Than Santa Clause

Santa lives at the North Pole...
JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh...
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year...
JESUS is an ever-present help

Santa fills your stockings with goodies…
JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited…
JESUS stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart when invited.

You have to wait in line to see Santa…
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap…
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn’t know your name, all he can say is “Hi little boy or girl, what’s your name?”…
JESUS knew our name before we did.   He knows our history and future.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly…
JESUS has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is Ho Ho Ho…
JESUS offers health, help, and hope.

Santa says “You better not cry”…
JESUS says “Cast all your cares on me, for I care for you.”

Santa’s helpers make toys…
JESUS makes new life and mends wounded hearts.

Santa may make you chuckle, but…
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree…
JESUS became our gift and died on a tree.

It’s obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in CHRISTmas.
JESUS is still the reason for the season.
Yes, JESUS is better, he is much better than Santa Claus
.

Two Fun Filled Events!

This weekend had two fun filled events! On Friday, my cousins ward had a cooking night where we made sushi (and pot stickers)! Now I haven't every really tried sushi, nor did i have a strong desire to do so, but I went anyways! I had a lot of fun, even though the smell made my stomach turn. It must have been the mixture of seaweed, and raw fish. Whatever it was, it did NOT smell good. I had a hard time trying to convince myself to try one. Mostly because my stomach was turning so much. I did end up trying one, but it was just a veggie. It was very interesting. I didn't really think it was delicious, nor was it gross. It was just.... okay

         CHEERS!!!
The next day, a group of us went to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square. It was so beautiful, and the fog made the temple look a bit mysterious. I went with a group of nine, which was a little hard because some of us wanted to stop and look and take pictures, while others wanted to keep going.

My Cousin, My Best Friend

The past week I have been struggling to be happy.
So many things have been contributing to my unhappiness,
but Allyson made it so much easier. Being with her brought
back some of the happiness I was trying to find. Even though
we were both down last week, we helped lift each other up.
It is so hard for us to hang out and not crack up every so often!
I love her dearly and am SO grateful to have her as not only as
a family member, but a best friend.

Im going to miss you Ally when you leave!
