Why Jesus is Better Than Santa Clause

Santa lives at the North Pole...
JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh...
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year...
JESUS is an ever-present help

Santa fills your stockings with goodies…
JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited…
JESUS stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart when invited.

You have to wait in line to see Santa…
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap…
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn’t know your name, all he can say is “Hi little boy or girl, what’s your name?”…
JESUS knew our name before we did.   He knows our history and future.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly…
JESUS has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is Ho Ho Ho…
JESUS offers health, help, and hope.

Santa says “You better not cry”…
JESUS says “Cast all your cares on me, for I care for you.”

Santa’s helpers make toys…
JESUS makes new life and mends wounded hearts.

Santa may make you chuckle, but…
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree…
JESUS became our gift and died on a tree.

It’s obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.  
We need to put Christ back in CHRISTmas.
JESUS is still the reason for the season.
Yes, JESUS is better, he is much better than Santa Claus.

Two Fun Filled Events!

This weekend had two fun filled events! On Friday, my cousins ward had a cooking night where we made sushi (and pot stickers)! Now I haven't every really tried sushi, nor did i have a strong desire to do so, but I went anyways! I had a lot of fun, even though the smell made my stomach turn. It must have been the mixture of seaweed, and raw fish. Whatever it was, it did NOT smell good. I had a hard time trying to convince myself to try one. Mostly because my stomach was turning so much. I did end up trying one, but it was just a veggie. It was very interesting. I didn't really think it was delicious, nor was it gross. It was just.... okay

The next day, a group of us went to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square. It was so beautiful, and the fog made the temple look a bit mysterious. I went with a group of nine, which was a little hard because some of us wanted to stop and look and take pictures, while others wanted to keep going.

My Cousin, My Best Friend

The past week I have been struggling to be happy.

So many things have been contributing to my unhappiness,

but Allyson made it so much easier. Being with her brought

back some of the happiness I was trying to find. Even though

we were both down last week, we helped lift each other up.

It is so hard for us to hang out and not crack up every so often!

I love her dearly and am SO grateful to have her as not only as

a family member, but a best friend.

Im going to miss you Ally when you leave!

New Moon

As all of you know the movie New Moon came out

in theaters. Of course me and my roommates

(minus Brooke) went to the midnight showing.

We were so excited! We even bought the tickets two

months in advance!

We decided that it would be best if we went really

early to stand in line. Me and Lauren went around

4 to stand in line. We were prepared to be standing

outside, but we made it just in time to get a spot

inside. I was so grateful that i didn't have to stand

outside. It was worth going early and waiting forever.

In-n-out had just opened that day and my two roommates

were so excited. We sent Sarah to stand in line there

while we waited in line for the movie. In-n-out was delicious!

We ended up waiting inline for about 8 hours

It got extremely boring at some points but we did make some

temporary friends. It is amazing sometimes how small the world is.

One of the girls that was in line behind us is from Bloomfield. She drove up

to Utah to see the moviewith her friends.

The movie was amazing of course! I think the best

part of the movie was when Jacob had his shirt off! He

defiantly made the movie better! Go See New Moon!!!

October fun!

On the 24th my parents, aunt, uncles, cousin, and friends went to the BYU game. We all sat in different areas, and I ended up sitting with my cousin and friends. BYU didn't do very well, but we had a fun time despite it was freezing cold!

On monday the 24th I went to my cousins FHE. It was dress up as you can tell, and there was a talent show. I dressed was a cowgirl, Amy was a kiss, Joanna was the queen of hearts, and Ally was Alice from Alice in wonderland.

Last night my cousin Ally and friends Joanna had a halloween party. I dressed up as Pippi Longstocking! I had a great time being surrounded by friends. We talked, played games, and ate pizza and candy! It was a great night!

For my Philosophy class I have to do 20 hours of community service. I am helping a lady who runs her own pet adoption. I called her today and asked her if there was anything could do to help her. She told me that I could take some pictures of puppies to put on her website so they will get adopted. Here are the pictures I took of these cute little guys!

A Trip home

Wednesday the 14th was the start of my fall break.

I was so eager to go home! I was missing my whole family so much. The drive home seemed long, and was a little lonely, but I made it! I didn't do too many things that were exciting but I didn't care; I just wanted to be with family and friends. On Thursday me and my mom were running some errands and we went into an antique shop that was downtown. It was so fun looking around in there. The best part was all the hats. I had a great time trying them and just being with my mom!

On Saturday I wanted to go to my cousin Kaleb, Deacon, and Kole's soccer games. I had a great time watching those boys played! They are all so different yet all so wonderful in their own special ways. Im so thankful for them. They all make my days better and brighter. I didn't get any pictures of the boys playing, but I of course got pictures of Ms. Kalie and a couple of Kaleb

Now I am back in provo and it's time to get back to reality.
